Franklin Park Zoo

Franklin Park Zoo is located in Boston, Massachusetts. The location is a welcoming environment for visitors of all ages. While visiting, you can hear the unforgettable roar of a lion, stand inches from a gorilla, and meet many other animals! Exhibit areas include: Tropical Forest, Giraffe Savanna, Kalahari Kingdom, Serengeti Crossing, Tiger Tales, Franklin Farm, Outback Trail, Bird’s World, Aussie Aviary, and Butterfly Landing. The tropical rainforest is an innovative and intimate indoor exhibit that gives guests a chance to stand face-to-face with Franklin Park Zoo’s eight western lowland gorillas at one of five glass viewing stations. Other species featured include: mandrills, ocelots, ring-tailed lemurs, Baird’s, tapirs, a pygmy hippopotamus as well as dozens of free-flight birds. There are other fun attractions at the Franklin Park Zoo including the Rhino Rescue motion simulator and the 10,000 foot playground. The Rhino Rescue motion simulator ride is set in Africa. You will be on a high-speed chase alongside park rangers in their pursuit of poachers. You will encounter elephants, wildebeest and other wildlife while on the adventure to rescue and reunite a baby rhino with his mother.

Faneuil Hall & Marketplace

Faneuil Hall Market place

Located in Boston is Faneuil Hall and Marketplace. The building was constructed in 1742. Inspirational speeches were given by Samuel Adams and other patriots at this location. The building was expanded in 1806. Today, the first floor is used as a lively marketplace and the second floor is a meeting hall where many debates are held. Historical tours are offered daily by the National Service Park rangers. There are various shopping and dining options for visitors. These include: Ann Taylor, Best of Boston, Boston Harley Davidson, Coach, Funusual, Local Charm, Newbury Comics, Sea Boston USA, The Stone Flower, Best Gift Idea Ever, and Boston Pewter Company. Boston Street Theater is also a part of Faneuil Hall. World-renowned street performers will give visitors a jaw-dropping experience. There will be stunts, musical performances, and mind-boggling balance routines. The acts will be performed on the cobblestone promenades. There are also events held at this location as well.

Freedom trail is located in Boston, Massachusetts. It is a 2.5-mile brick-lined route that leads visitors to 16 historically significant sights each one being an authentic treasure. You can explore museums and meetinghouses, churches, and burying grounds. You will also learn about the brave people who shaped our nation. While visiting, discover the rich history of the American Revolution, as it began in Boston, where every step tells a story. The Freedom Trail Foundation offers some of the most popular historical tours in New England. Guests can walk into history along the famous red line with 18th will hear the tales of the brave Bostonians and colonialists who dared to challenge Britain and established the greatest republic in the world. The tours are 90 minutes in length. The official sites featured on the Freedom Trail are: Boston Common, Massachusetts State House, Park Street Church, Granary Burying Ground, King’s Chapel and Burying Ground, Ben Franklin statue and Boston Latin School, Old Corner Bookstore, Old South Meeting House, the Old State House, the Boston Massacre Site, Fanuel Hall, Paul Revere House, Old North Church, Copp’s Hill Burying Ground, USS Constitution, and Bunker Hill Monument. The group may choose the departure location for the tour and there is an option to add other sites with the Extended Tour.

Salem Witch Museum

The Salem Witch Museum is located in Salem, Massachusetts. While visiting, take a tour or shop in the Museum Store. Guests of all ages are welcome. The museum brings you back to 1692 Salem. Guests will experience the drama of history in life-size stage sets, figures, lighting and a stirring narration. The live guides take you through changing interpretations of witches, the truth behind the stereotypes, witchcraft practice today and also the frightening phenomenon of witch hunting. The presentation is an overview of the trials. During Halloween, there is another tour offered by the museum. It is known as the Haunted Happenings. There is a statue in front of the museum. The person presented on the statue is Rodger Conant. He was the founder of Salem. He didn’t have anything to do with the witch trials at all. His father was a merchant of a neighboring town known as Clayton. Rodger and his family arrived in Plymouth in 1622. The town was renamed Salem from the word “shalom” which means peace on June 29, 1629.

USS Constitution

The USS Constitution Museum is located in Boston, Massachusetts. It houses the largest collection of USS Constitution-related objects assembled in one location. These collections focus on the ship’s origin, her role in the early republic, her continuing story, and on those who have shaped her history to the present day. The museum displays a wide range of artifact types, spanning the more than 200-year history of the USS Constitution. They are also rich in a human dimension of the crew. Through personal possessions such as images, journals, and correspondence, the location strives to bring the story of the people associated with the ship to life. The types of collections featured in the museum include: Art and Artifact Collections, Library and Manuscript Collections, and Constitution’s History. The Art and Artifact Collections feature: Arms and Armament, Artwork, Ceramics and Glass, Clothing and Textiles, Personal Possessions, Spoils of War, Tools of the Trade, and Souvenirs. The Library and Manuscript Collections feature: Broadsides and Posters, Certificates, Correspondence, Logs and Journals, Pamphlets, Photographs, Poetry, Printed Media, Rare Books, and Scrapbooks.

New England Aquarium

The New England Aquarium is located in Boston, Massachusetts. The location is a popular attraction seeing 1.3 million visitors each year. It was opened in 1969. Several exhibits are featured at the New England Aquarium for visitors to experience! Some of these include: the Amazon Rainforest, the Atlantic Harbor Seals, the Blue Planet Center, the Coral Reef Center, and the Giant Ocean Tank. Other areas include: Gulf of Maine, Hands-on Areas, the Marine Mammal Center, and Pacific Reef Community. There are a variety of interesting animal exhibits including the following: Seadragons and the Shark and Ray Touch Tank. Presentations and shows are also available for visitors to observe. The aquarium also contains a variety of different animals including: African Penguins, the California Sea lion, a Cownose Ray, the Giant Pacific Octopus, Green Anaconda, a Green Sea Turtle, and the Leafy Sea dragon just to name a few. The group is sure to have an awesome experience examining the different exhibits!

Old North Church

Old North ChurchThe Old North Church is located in Boston, Massachusetts. The location began its fame on the evening of April 18, 1775, when the church sexton Robert Newman, and Vestryman Captain John Pulling, jr. climbed the steeple and held high two lanterns as a signal from Paul Revere that the British were marching to Lexington and Concord by sea across the Charles River and not by land. The church was founded in 1722. This historic site is the most visited in the city of Boston. The Old North campus also contains a gift shop; the 1713 Clough house one of Boston’s oldest surviving brick residences, a chapel that was built in 1918 for Italian immigrants, two large courtyards and a formal garden. Group tours are offered every day all day long. Guests are seated in boxed pews to hear a brief 5-7 minute presentation on the history of Old North. The presentation highlights the founding of the church, items of architectural interest, the lantern story, and the role of Old North in the American Revolution. There are also Behind-the-scenes tours available for your group. The 30-minute guided tour offers an in-depth view of the Old North and its history while visitors explore 2 areas that are only accessible on this specific tour.

Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum

During your group trip to Baltimore, you should consider checking out the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum. The museum presents the life and times of George Herman also known as Babe Ruth. He was Baltimore’s native son and became America’s first sports celebrity as well as an international icon. The Sports Legends Museum is located in the area. Visitors will have the opportunity to check out fascinating exhibits at both museums. George Herman was born in 1895. Times were rough in the Baltimore Harbor during that time period.

 

The exhibits at the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum are both fascinating and educational. One of the exhibits is known as The Ruthian Record. At the exhibit, group members will learn about Babe’s record as an amazing slugger, record-setting pitcher and even a school-age catcher. Another interesting exhibit is known as the Historic House exhibit. The group will have the opportunity to check out the upstairs bedroom of the baseball legend. Babe Batted Here is another fascinating exhibit for visitors to explore. There are artifacts on display such as a catcher’s mitt, a jersey, and a hymnal book that was used by Babe while attending St. Mary’s Industrial School in Baltimore.

 

The Sports Legends Museum has several interesting exhibits that focus on a variety of topics. Group members can see exhibits such as the Maryland State Athletic Hall of Fame, Amateur Baseball in Maryland, The Negro Leagues: A Baseball Legacy, and the Orioles Hall of Fame. The Orioles Hall of Fame exhibit contains one-of-a-kind sports memorabilia as well as personal mementos from the team’s top players. Guests can check out artifacts from Cal Ripken Jr., Eddie Murray, and Brooks Robinson.

When your group takes a trip to Baltimore, you should spend some time checking out the Maryland Science Center. It is located at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Visitors can check out fascinating exhibits, participate in Science Encounters, visit the Planetarium or view a film at the IMAX Theater.

 

The exhibits at the Maryland Science Center are both entertaining and educational. One of the exhibits is known as Cells: The Universe Inside Us. You will zoom into your own body and see the different cells that make up your heart, brain and bones. These cells communicate with each other every moment of our lives. Another exhibit is known as Follow the Blue Crab. The exhibit contains live Maryland crustaceans and their fellow Chesapeake citizens. You can check out the giant mechanical blue crab, live terrapins, crabs, and native fish. Newton’s Alley is another fascinating exhibit where guests will experience physical science in a unique way. You will have the opportunity to pull yourself up to the stars in a chair, play a string-less harp, see sound, and touch a cloud. There are hands-on interactive displays for group members to explore.

 

If you want an up close and personal science encounter, the Maryland Science Center is the place to visit. The team can witness live hair-raising science experiments on the Demo Stage, view Global changes on a 3-dimentional sphere at Science on a Sphere, and encounter the night sky in all its glory on the rooftop observatory. On the Demo Stage, Science Center presenters demonstrate the wonders of scientific phenomena. Visitors are invited to ask questions and help with the demonstrations.
